SUPERSENSE is preparing the first-ever park-wide interpretation strategy for dual World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park (KNP). This is a one-in-a-generation opportunity to reinvigorate one of Australia’s most iconic natural landscapes and cultural landmarks. The strategy will highlight and celebrate the World Heritage values and help create further Traditional Owner-led opportunities.

Our team has been working closely with the local Bininj/Mungguy Traditional Owners, Knowledge Holders, and other Stakeholders to tell their stories in the right ways. The strategy aims to bring cultural and natural stories to life through a variety of mediums that engage and enlighten visitors while being sensitive to the history and traditions of place and people.

The strategy provides a blueprint for interpretation at KNP for ten years and beyond. It correlates with visitor target markets, addresses the capacity of Bininj/Mungguy and navigates Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Copyright (ICIP) in curating, generating and delivering interpretation at Kakadu. This strategy is closely entwined with findings and actions from the KNP Tourism Master Plan.
