SUPERSENSE collaborated with a GBA Interpretation Strategy to develop narratives, exhibit objects, and interpret significant stories related to Marrickville Hospital. The site and buildings have been adaptively reused for a new library and residential development designed by BVN.
Drawing design inspiration from the rhomboid shape of the site and the zigzag roof of the new library rooftop, SUPERSENSE created an innovative outcome that bridges contemporary and heritage elements. They designed a series of custom cabinets, object mounts, and cast bronze signage featured in both contemporary and historic spaces. SUPERSENSE also authored interpretive text, sourced heritage photography, and engaged appropriate artisans for each crafted element.
